Curry Food-Indian Food

Leicester is the holder of the grand title of ‘Curry Capital of Britain’, winning the competition the last time it was held in 2007. For the first time in the competition’s seven-year history, Leicester emerged triumphant against competition from other UK cities including London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bradford, Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Nottingham and Leeds.

Seven restaurants were nominated to represent Leicester’s bid, as voted for by readers of the Leicester Mercury newspaper: The Curry House on London Road, T and K Balti House on Green Lane Road, Ek Maya on Dysart Way, Kabalou’s on Loughborough Road, Curry Fever on Belgrave Road, the Spice House in Barwell, and Little India Restaurant in Arnesby.
